THE EXPERIENCE

A Study in Form, Movement & Floral Expression

This workshop series is an invitation to slow down and observe—where each stem is placed with care, and every gesture is guided by intention. Designed for intermediate florists, these sessions focus on deepening your sensitivity to form, movement, and composition, allowing you to create work that feels both instinctive and considered.

FEATURED FLORAL ARTIST: FLOS. COTIDIE

-

At the heart of the workshop is Flos. Cotidie, a Malaysian floral studio recognised for its considered and quietly distinctive approach to floristry. Their work sits at the intersection of the English garden style— soft, textural, and abundant, and the disciplined restraint of ikebana, where line, space, and balance are given equal weight.

Arrangements are led by the natural character of each stem. Flowers are not forced into shape, but allowed to arc, fall, and settle as they would, resulting in compositions that feel open, intentional, and composed with ease.

Working within an Asian context, the studio places emphasis on seasonality and locality, often incorporating native orchids and tropical elements. The outcome is a body of work that feels grounded yet nuanced, familiar yet quietly unexpected.

Bouquet Wrapping: Form, Finish & Presentation

A beautifully arranged bouquet deserves an equally thoughtful finish. In this session, we explore the art of bouquet wrapping through Flos. Cotidie’s signature style—where technique meets aesthetics to elevate your work from a hand-tied bouquet into a complete statement piece.

Designed for those with a basic understanding of floristry, this class focuses on refining your wrapping approach with intention and precision. You’ll explore material selection, the balance between structure and softness, and how to execute clean, polished wraps that complement your bouquet’s natural form.

Participants will also revisit the fundamentals of the spiral bouquet technique, strengthening their foundation to better support structure, balance, and overall form.

We will cover essential techniques such as layering, proportion, hand-tied finishing, and creating dimension through textures and folds—ensuring your bouquets feel cohesive, elevated, and presentation-ready.

This is a hands-on, detail-oriented session for those looking to sharpen their craft and develop a distinctive wrapping style.

Impetus Arrangement: Flow, Form & Movement

A compelling arrangement begins with understanding how flowers naturally move and grow. In this session, we explore the essence of Impetus arrangement through Flos. Cotidie’s signature approach—where observation meets intuition to create pieces that feel organic, expressive, and alive.

Designed for those with a basic understanding of floristry, this class focuses on working with the natural flow and structure of each stem, rather than against it. You’ll learn to recognise directional growth, weight, and rhythm, and how to translate these elements into a harmonious composition. Participants will also explore the use of tessellation techniques within floral arrangement, creating structure and rhythm through intentional placement.

The session includes a guided demonstration, followed by a deeper exploration of mechanics and placement—covering how to build movement, create balance, and allow each element to find its place within the arrangement.

This is a thoughtful, process-driven class for those looking to refine their sensitivity to form and develop arrangements that feel both intentional and effortlessly composed.
